The Tennessee PTA is supporting 3 student contests for the school year, 2008-2009, for K-2nd grade division.
All FPS student entries will be judged and each contest will be awarded with
1st, 2nd and 3rd place locally. All entries, whether FPS winners or not,
will be sent to the Knox County PTA to be judged. Winners at the county level will be sent to the Tennessee
PTA and will compete against the work of other students at State level for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
place.
Parents, please encourage your children to participate in one or more contests.
Every participant will be rewarded a participation prize no matter the result, and each local
FPS 1st, 2nd or 3rd place winner for each contest will receive a small trophy and
a $10.00 gift certificate to Hobby Lobby. Locally for FPS, in the Reflections Contest,
all categories will be combined for a total 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner.
However,
through the Reflections Program, any State level winner's work sent to the National PTA level will be considered for an
Award of Excellence and/or an Outstanding Interpretation Award. Both provide exciting national awards and prizes.
These contests are a great way for children to use their imagination,
their artistic and literature skills, enjoy the spirit of evaluation by a panel of competent judges and recognition for their
work.
