As school begins, there are many exciting opportunities to become active in your child's education. One of the easiest ways to become involved is to join the PTA. Membership information packets will be sent home in your child's backpack. Simply fill out the information and return it to your child's teacher.

Our 2008-2009 PTA membership drive was a huge success!!!
All the thanks goes to the students of FPS and
you the parents! Our membership number now stands
at 1529. Here is a list of the drive contest winners for this year.
 
Top Classes: Mrs. Sain – Kindergarten
Mrs. Frear – 1st Grade
Mrs. Gainer – 2nd Grade (Also overall
class winner)

Top Students this year were all 2nd graders!!! They are:
1st place – Jack Gibson (Wheeler)
2nd place – Leah Alsobrooks (Maser)
3rd place – Paul Ashton King (Etchison)

Congratulations to all the winners!!!! A special thanks
goes to Sonic Drive-Thru, Starbucks, Bonefish Grill, Aubrey’s,
Texas Roadhouse and the Knoxville Ice Bears!!!

MISSION

 Farragut Primary School PTA strives to enhance the education of all our children by providing a unified voice on behalf of every child.

PURPOSES OF THE NATIONAL CONGRESS OF PARENTS AND TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

  • To promote the welfare of children and youth in home, school, community, and place of worship
  • To raise the standards of home life 
  • To secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children and youth
  • To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.
  • To develop between educators and the general public such united efforts as will secure for all children and youth the highest advantages in physical, mental, social, and spiritual education.


PTA MISSION:  The  mission of the PTA is three-fold

  • To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in the schools, in the community, and before governmental agencies and other organizations that make decisions affecting children;
  • To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
